What's happening to Arctic Canada South's glaciers?
Arctic Canada South hosts roughly 11000 glaciers, comprising about 6% of Earth’s total glacier area. This area has seen consistent and extensive ice loss over the past two decades, driven predominantly by rising summer air temperatures and longer melt seasons. Altogether, the Canadian Arctic Archipelago ranks among the largest regional glacier contributors to global sea-level rise outside the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets.
